SPIRIT DO HEARS
We run to fight another day
If not to save ourselves
or to plan for the next day
The consultation to ogun we will seek
But the thunder striking advice from shango we can not deny,
For we will be ready with our sacrifice
as the obedience of it we can not let it slide,
Whiles the clouds are pregnant with rains,
We know our hopes are not faint,
There is a season ahead with a basket of grains,
An appraisal to the diety.
Whiles we harvest our substance unto the oracle,
Our incantations and adage waves into heaven's,
For we know our dreams are tackled,
The wailing and hooting of our children,
Has drummed a big sound unto the undying ears of forefathers,
But our ancestors sees us not unfortunate,
Yes! For we lack no fear
As we hold unto the voice of Balogun,
Firm like the flame at night
Why fear snake bite?
Whiles the fortification of our bodies swims with charms,
For the wars brought us warriors,
And the rains brought us barns,
This is to us, that the spirit still hears.
